When I look back in recent history, one of the eras that really upsets me is the 1960's. For a short time, music and young people changed the world. They started with a vision that some (myself not included) thought naive; to create a mostly non-materialistic society based on love and acceptance, rather than the one succumb to the corruption greed and prejudice they saw in the society created by their elders. For a short while, they stood the world on its side and made everyone take notice. But then they let drugs take over and they lost focus of their vision. The drugs became their focal point instead of the changes they were trying to make in the world. They did change the world to some degree, but they could have done so much more. Unfortunately, most of the change they did accomplish in that short period would end up being lost in the decades to follow. I often wonder how different the world would be today had drugs not taken over during that period and the young people would have been able to really change the world.

I'll learn to play guitar if it's the last thing I do! (not literally the last thing...hopefully)
