Hi Gretchen, I'm 52 and I too have been playing fingerstyle for a while, but wanted to get a better "musical foundation"...I love L&M Guitar! I really feel better about my music now that I'm understanding the music rather than just memorizing finger positions and finger picking patterns. I had actually stagnated and quit playing for almost 2 years before getting re-energized by L&M G For now,I'm working on memorizing my scales and building strength for barre cords, while I am playing the songs on the first two Cd's.
