Crappy at guitar? You may have been playing a while, or perhaps you
haven't even started yet. Either way, if you've spent any time looking
for guitar lessons online, you've probably seen a lot of them and wondered which (if any) are worth
your hard-earned money. Once again, BigLemonReviews is here to help!
For this project, we put together a review team consisting of an even split
between professional guitar instructors, intermediate players, and absolute
beginners. They went through all of the top-selling guitar training
courses, as well as several others that were recommended by guitar teachers.
Of
all the products our reviewers looked at, Learn & Master Guitar was the clear favorite, with Jamorama coming in second as the best of the downloadable "e-courses."
Here's a quick summary of our five favorites:

Learn & Master Guitar by Legacy Learning
Systems received the only perfect Five-Lemon score of all the guitar
training courses we've tested. In fact, all of our testers
chose it as their personal favorite. It contains ten DVDs, five
CDs, a lesson book, and unlimited support by real guitar instructors.
It's designed for both acoustic and electric guitar, and it takes
students from the basics all the way through very advanced techniques.
The only possible drawback is price, but check our
full review
for tips on how to get it at a discount.

Jamorama is
a downloadable "e-course" that allows you to take guitar lessons on
your computer. E-courses are
inexpensive and offer immediate gratification (no waiting on shipping!),
but they are often cumbersome to use, as they require you to take all of
your lessons while sitting in front of a computer. They do tend to
vary quite a bit in quality, but Jamorama was our favorite. It has
a LOT of guitar lessons, although our reviewers did have a few quality
concerns. Check the
full review for details.

Guitar Tutor Pro is another
of the downloadable "e-courses." (There are dozens of them out
there, and more seem to pop up all the time.) Our testers rated it
similar
to Jamorama, getting major bonus points for its approach to teaching,
but also losing major points for not having any video clips to go along
with the instruction. Check the
full review for a detailed explanation
of the differences between the this and Jamorama.

Guitar Songs AU
takes a very different approach to learning guitar. In fact, it
was a little hard to know how to rate this product because it's not really a
course in the traditional sense. Instead of teaching the fundamentals of the instrument, it
instead simply shows you exactly how to play various songs from their
list. You won't know why you're doing what you're doing, but
you will learn to play several songs very quickly. If fast results
is your primary objective, this may work for you.

How To Play Guitar
by Roger Evans is much different from the other courses we listed here
because it is simply a book. Although our reviewers preferred to
learn guitar with the aid of audio and video, we did want to mention at least
one traditional guitar instruction book, and this one of the better ones
we've seen.
